Overwatch 2 players want hero more “annoying” than Sombra nerfed

In the latest season, one character from Overwatch 2 has been causing quite a stir among players, and Sombra is just one of the heroes that have sparked debate – it’s another character who’s really stirring up emotions!

In the debut of hero bans during Overwatch 2’s Season 16, the majority of gamers expressed approval. Yet, players who frequently play more contentious heroes have had a less favorable response since they’ve been barred from utilizing their preferred characters in numerous high-level competitions.

In simpler terms, Sombra might be considered the most affected character because players had already decided to avoid her prior to her introduction. This was primarily due to her playstyle, as it requires sneaking up from behind opponents, a tactic that many find challenging and annoying to deal with.

Currently, a new character named Freja is facing attempts at being banned by players, only a few weeks after her introduction.

In the beginning of Season 16, Freja was initially presented, and then subsequently received a minor boost to enhance her competitiveness. However, it seems that the developers may have overcompensated, as fans are expressing concern that they’ve adjusted her too much in the opposite direction. One fan even suggested that other players should avoid using her due to Sombra’s superiority over Freja.

The original poster requested that we prohibit the use of Freja in our Competitive mode. They find it frustrating that everyone quickly bans Sombra, while allowing Sombra, or “this beast,” to continue unchecked.

As I delved deeper into the game, it wasn’t just me struggling against Freja. Many others were voicing their frustration over her current strength too. Her versatile kit, capable of both mobility and dealing damage from a distance, seemed to be a thorn in everyone’s side right now.

Player 1 expressed, “In every match, Freja is the first character I have to eliminate.” Meanwhile, another player commented, “I believe her ability to quickly aim, dash, and reset her aim, then repeat it again is excessively powerful.

A third person stated, “Frejas that do good are much more hazardous compared to how harmful Sombra has ever become. Sombra can be incredibly irritating, similar to Sojourn.

Instead of just temporarily banning her from competitive matches, many players are eagerly awaiting a reduction in her power level, or a nerf, in the near future.

It’s amazing, but she actually received a hotfix boost earlier this season when she was already bothersome and powerful. Surely she won’t make it through the mid-season update, correct?

The upcoming significant Overwatch 2 update is tentatively scheduled for mid-season 16, which is approximately May 20th. Following this, season 17 kicks off on June 24th. Therefore, we’ll have to keep an eye out to find out if Freja will undergo any balance adjustments in the near future.
