Players of Overwatch 2 are expressing dissatisfaction over the return of skins from the original LE SSERAFIM event, as they find the re-colors unappealing and believe the cost is excessively high.
In sync with the mid-season update for Overwatch 2, the second LE SSERAFIM event was launched, offering five fresh K-POP inspired character skins and reintroducing the ones from the initial partnership.
It was a letdown for numerous supporters when the vintage LE SSERAFIM outfits resurfaced, since not only did the price stay the same, but these reintroduced skins were essentially color-changed versions of the originals.
Fans are not happy with the LE SSERAFIM recolors
Originally, five characters – Brigitte, Tracer, Sombra, D.Va, and Kiriko – were given LE SSERAFIM-themed skins in Overwatch 2. This was the game’s first partnership with a musical artist and it generally went well within the community.
Currently, Overwatch 2 is teaming up with LE SSERAFIM for a second time, releasing a fresh collaboration song and unique skins for characters such as Mercy, Juno, D.Va, Ashe, and Illari. It’s worth noting that Blizzard chose to make the original skins accessible in an alternate way by introducing recolored versions, which has sparked mixed feelings within the gaming community.
“[I] kinda wish Brig’s hair matched the style of the other gals more,” wrote one user.
The other person concurred, saying they found her color palette too repetitive. They suggested a shade closer to Kiri’s blondeness would be more appealing than the current blue.

Those who initially had the original skins felt disheartened by the steep cost of the re-colored versions. Although these are new cosmetic items, a significant number of players found it unfair to ask $40 for them.
One player mentioned they prefer the Kiriko design over others, but they’re reluctant to pay the full cost for what appears to be just a repainted version of a skin they already own.
“The fact that none of these recolors are earnable via challenges is sad,” wrote someone else.
Although some players might find the re-colored skins underwhelming, it’s worth noting that the latest collaboration skins have been well-received by the gaming community, even though they initially sparked less enthusiasm.
“Juno is sooo cute!” exclaimed one player on X. “I was ecstatic to see a new collab!”
The LE SSERAFIM collaboration event is ongoing until April 1st, leaving gamers with only about two weeks left to secure the required skins. Additionally, players have the chance to engage in in-game challenges and win the “Legendary Fighter Trainee Junkrat” skin at no cost.
