Leaked skins for Overwatch 2’s Gundam Wing collaboration have left fans puzzled, as two characters were unexpectedly omitted from the roster of available heroes.
Starting on April 29th, Overwatch 2 will team up with Gundam Wing as part of its ongoing collaboration in the hero shooter genre. Previous collaborations have proven successful with One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, Transformers, among others.
For the collaboration, it’s been verified that Mercy will receive a new skin. However, there’s been much discussion among players about who else might be getting one, with Pharah, Echo, and Bastion emerging as popular guesses.
On April 22, when Season 16 debuted, it was discovered that four character skins had been leaked ahead of time. These leaks revealed some unexpected absences and additions in the selection of characters receiving the Gundam makeover.

On the platform X, ‘wiki_ow’ posted a statement suggesting that just four characters will receive collaboration skins, which they then identified.
Additionally to Mercy, it’s also planned for characters like Ramattra, Soldier 76, and Reaper to receive skins inspired by the Mobile Suit series.
Excitedly, I’d like to share with you the roster of heroes joining Overwatch 2 from the Gundam W universe! These four iconic characters are about to make their mark on the battlefield:
1. Mercy, also known as Angel Healer, will continue to provide support and care for her allies.
2. Ramattra, the enigmatic villain, brings his powerful abilities to the fight.
3. Reaper, the master of stealth and deception, will strike fear into the hearts of his enemies.
4. Soldier: 76, the ultimate team player, will lead the charge with his versatile weaponry.Get ready for these Overwatch2 #Overwatch collaborations!

For players expecting more flying heroes like Pharah and Echo, this list caught them off guard.
“Mercy sneaking her way in over Echo or Pharah is criminal behavior,” one wrote.
“Missed opportunity to include all flying heroes. Echo, Pharah and D.va,” another commented.
Another player expressed confusion when Echo missed out on collaborative skins for both Transformers and Gundam, while Mercy managed to secure one.
Meanwhile, fans of the Null Sector tank were pleased to see Ramattra getting the collab treatment.
Indeed, until Blizzard officially reveals the skins, let’s approach this news with a touch of skepticism. However, it’s not hard to understand why some fans might have anticipated Pharah being included, considering that one of her Overwatch 1 launch skins, Mechaqueen, seemed to draw heavily from the Gundam series.
