The developers of Overwatch 2 have disclosed a character that they originally intended to feature in a collaboration with LE SSERAFIM, but ultimately decided against it for some reason.
Following some subtle teases at the Spotlight event, Blizzard has officially revealed the second phase of their LE SSERAFIM collaboration. The fresh faces joining the chic collection are Juno, Mercy, Ashe, and Illari, who will represent the K-Pop girl group in a series of skins. Meanwhile, D.Va from the initial wave is due for a new wardrobe update.
According to Blizzard’s confirmation, these fresh skins are set to appear in the game on March 18, 2025. Additionally, they have planned to introduce color variants for the initial release wave as well.
It seems that the collaboration was intended to involve an extra character as well. However, unfortunately, it didn’t result in a unique LE SSERAFIM character skin.
Blizzard wanted to add Roadhog, but it seems he’s not into K-Pop
During an interview with Comicbook, Overwatch 2’s Art Director Dion Rogers shared that initially, the team considered creating a LE SSERAFIM skin for Roadhog to pair with Junkrat, whose Fawksey James outfit was unveiled in the game’s first wave.

Actually, surprisingly, this choice didn’t pass because of Roadhog’s musical tastes. Rogers clarified, “When considering which skin fits a character best, we delve deep. We even consider what the character themselves might choose.
Perhaps Roadhog isn’t as big of a K-Pop fan as we initially assumed, though the idea did amuse us during our brainstorming session since we’ve already explored Junkrat’s musical preferences. However, his music taste remains uncertain, and it might not be K-Pop after all.
It’s important to mention that developers have shared reasons for the absence of collaboration skins on some heroes, stating that characters like Roadhog can be difficult to design because of their distinct silhouettes.
Although some fans might find it disheartening that Roadhog wasn’t added this time, take comfort in knowing that the Junkrat skin will be back in the game at a later date for anyone who couldn’t get it earlier.
As with its initial release in 2023, this will again offer a complimentary prize that you can earn by successfully completing tasks or challenges.
