Netflix is creating a reality show based on the popular cooking game, Overcooked. A24, the company behind the game, is partnering with Netflix to produce the unscripted series, according to Deadline.
The new show is expected to be like other competitive series on Netflix, such as ‘Nailed It’ and ‘Floor Is Lava’. According to reports, ‘Overcooked’ will bring the fast-paced, chaotic fun of the popular video game to life through challenging cooking competitions.
The show is currently being developed, and several key people from Ghost Town Games are involved as executive producers.
Overcooked, released in 2016, quickly became popular for its fun, collaborative gameplay. Players work together as chefs in a chaotic kitchen, racing against the clock to prepare and serve meals while keeping everything clean. It’s easy to see why it would make a great reality TV show – the pressure and teamwork are instantly engaging.
Overcooked 2 was released in 2018, and then in 2020, Overcooked: All You Can Eat came out.
So, Netflix is really going all-in on games now! I just heard they’re making a reality show based on Overcooked, which is wild. But that’s not all – they’re also working on a movie for BioShock, and a TV series based on Assassin’s Creed! It seems like every game I love is getting the Netflix treatment.
