I’m really excited about the return of a character from the first season of Outlander in the new series, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood.” This upcoming Starz spinoff is set several decades before Jamie and Claire’s story begins, offering us an opportunity to learn more about their parents. While we’ve glimpsed parts of the Frasers’ and Beauchamps’ histories in the main Outlander series, “Blood of My Blood” promises to delve deeply into these details. This means we’ll get to explore many of the significant characters that were part of their circle.

The eighth season of “Outlander,” scheduled for release between late 2025 and early 2026, marks the conclusion of the main series. Strict and somewhat mistrustful, she also showed immense warmth, protection, and playfulness. In fact, this elderly woman was one of the first characters to bring a smile to Claire’s face in Outlander season 1 following her forced return with the MacKenzies to Castle Leoch.

In the world of Outlander, it has been disclosed that Mrs. Fitz, previously a housekeeper at Castle Leoch, will take on a new role as Ellen MacKenzie’s personal maid. While it’s likely that she passed away by the time Outlander reaches its eighth season, we can only speculate about her fate.

In essence, since “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” is a prequel series, it won’t clarify the fate of Mrs. Fitz at the end. Yet, this spinoff offers an opportunity to further develop her character and offer a resolution that was missing after season 1 of Outlander. Consequently, we might be able to conclude “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” with a sense of satisfaction about Mrs. Fitz’s spirited persona.
