Actor Jonathan Daviss is moving from Outer Banks to the West Coast, as he’s scored the leading part in Universal’s forthcoming biographical film about hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg.
Craig Brewer, known for “Hustle and Flow,” “Dolemite is My Name,” and the upcoming “Song Sung Blue,” will be the one to direct the film. He’ll make some changes to a script that was originally penned by Joe Robert Cole. Alongside Snoop Dogg, Brian Grazer, and Sara Ramaker (President of Death Row Pictures), Snoop Dogg is involved in producing this project.
Deadline was first to report news of Daviss’ casting.
