I’m super excited as we’re just about two months away from the launch of Dying Light: The Beast! As Tymon Smektala from Techland mentioned in a chat with GamesRadar+, it’s impossible to create a flawless game, but there are certain parts where precision is key. After pouring years of hard work into this project, he’s crystal clear about what elements really matter for an outstanding gaming experience!
As a die-hard fan of the Dying Light series, I can confidently say that the core aspects of the upcoming game shouldn’t catch us off guard – we’re talking about parkour and intense hand-to-hand combat. The Polish studio is committed to preserving the freedom and creative potential in the gameplay, all while cranking up the physicality of the encounters. Just a quick reminder that firearms will also feature prominently in this game. The developers have put in a tremendous amount of effort to make sure the undead exhibit realistic combat behaviors.
In a notable aspect often underestimated yet crucial for the unique charm of the “Dying Light” series, we devoted considerable effort to fine-tuning the responses of zombies upon impact and their behavior towards various weapons, as articulated by Tymon Smektala.
But there’s more to it; the primary figure significantly contributes to the plot. For instance, in the storyline of Dying Light: The Beast, the character is Kyle Crane, who you may recall from the initial release. This time around, he’ll be portrayed as a hybrid human-zombie out for vengeance, opening up fresh combat opportunities.
According to the series director, representing the primary character is an aspect we absolutely must get right; if not, our fans might justifiably show their displeasure.
This year on August 22nd, the expansion titled “Dying Light: The Beast” will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
