As of July 12, 2024 (Updated), the first part of the year, including the Cannes Film Festival, has passed. We’re now anticipating the upcoming autumn festivals that are expected to unveil numerous contenders for awards.
Warner Bros. is set to release three highly anticipated sequels: Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune Part Two,” Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux,” and Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Sequel.” The latter might take some by surprise, as initial reactions indicate “it could be an awards contender.” This could potentially result in Michael Keaton receiving recognition for his performance, more than a decade after being snubbed for “Birdman.”

The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2.
