In simpler terms, it appears that the original Crysis game from the Crytek studio has been taken down from Steam’s digital store, and the reason for this removal remains unclear.
- The standard version of the game was removed from sale four years ago, but until now it was possible to purchase the title as part of the Crysis Maximum Bundle, which also included the standalone expansion Warhead. However, now this set has also been removed from distribution.
- It should be added that Warhead can still be purchased on Steam. Electronic Arts has therefore only removed the option to purchase the basic version of Crysis.
- EA didn’t provide any reasons for this decision. Most likely, technical issues are behind this.
For quite a while now, Steam gamers have been encountering issues when trying to run Crysis. Since there appears to be some development work done on this game this year according to the platform’s records, fans were anticipating an update in the form of a patch. However, it seems that Electronic Arts has chosen not to invest resources into fixing the problem and instead opted to take the game off the market.
One possibility is that the publisher might not have received assistance from Crytek since Crytek’s team is releasing Crysis Remastered under their own brand. Therefore, it seems likely that they prefer for this edition to be the exclusive one listed on Valve’s store.
