OpenAI CEO says son won’t attend college and will “never” be smarter than AI

According to Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, it’s highly probable that his son won’t go to college and will never reside in a time when he is intellectually superior to artificial intelligence.

Ever since the debut of OpenAI, Sam Altman has been diligently striving to develop the most intelligent AI model, along with its companion chatbot, known as ChatGPT.

His fame has significantly increased, and he’s been a guest on numerous podcasts, expressing his comprehensive views on the sector as a whole.

On the 23rd of July, Wednesday, Altman appeared on Theo Von’s podcast to discuss Artificial Intelligence and expressed his views regarding his son’s future.

At the performance, Theo inquired from Altman regarding his child born in February 2025 and shared curiosity about Altman’s perspectives on the future of the OpenAI CEO’s son.

Sam shared that he didn’t complete college, and it’s probable that his son won’t attend college when he grows up.

He stated that his child will never surpass the intelligence of an AI; such a scenario is unlikely.

In eighteen years, I can only imagine that the world of products and services will be so advanced, it’ll be hard for us to fathom a time when they weren’t far more intelligent than we are now. Education, too, is bound to transform drastically under this new paradigm.

Over time, OpenAI has consistently introduced numerous innovative enhancements to ChatGPT, making it increasingly intelligent and versatile with each update.

In March, a freshly launched GPT model made its debut, enabling users to generate images reminiscent of Studio Ghibli, thereby sparking a trend on social media platforms.

The trend became incredibly popular to such an extent that Altman stated the number of requests they were handling was overwhelming their server processors, almost causing them to “melt”.
