As a long-time fan who lived and breathed “One Tree Hill” through its nine seasons, this news has me doing a little two-step dance of joy! The thought of Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Daneel Ackles back in their roles is simply heartwarming. And if the talks about Jensen Ackles returning materialize, well, that’s just the icing on the cake!
It’s been learned that a follow-up series for “One Tree Hill” is being developed by Netflix as we speak.
According to reports, the original series’ stars Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Daneel Ackles are taking on executive producer roles for the reboot. Specifically, Daneel Ackles will do so under her production company Chaos Machine, alongside her husband Jensen Ackles. Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are expected to return to their original characters, and discussions are ongoing about Daneel Ackles returning as well.
Netflix and WBTV declined to comment.
