As a seasoned One Piece fanatic who’s navigated through countless arcs and sagas, I can confidently say that Fujitora is one Admiral who stands out from the crowd. His complex character, marked by his unwavering principles and mysterious past, has left an indelible impression on me.
In the world of One Piece, we’ll eventually learn more about Fujitora’s past, and interestingly enough, Sanji had a premonition about a piece of it. Here’s the essential information you should be aware of.
Although Fujitora holds the rank of Admiral, he is one of the most adored characters within One Piece. His entrance occurred during the Dressrosa Saga post time skip. Unlike other Admirals who play antagonistic roles in the series, Fujitora stands out as somewhat distinct from them.
He respects Luffy for his kindness and everything he did for the people in Dressrosa. However, as a government official, he has his own concerns. Hence, he did serve as a temporary obstacle in the Straw Hats’ way.
Without a doubt, unlike most Admirals, he isn’t one who simply obeys commands without question. Instead, Fujitora chose to join the Marines with the intention of battling the corrupt administration and reforming it from within.
It appears that Issho was indeed a significant figure in the ruin of the Aoi Kingdom, as revealed in Section SBS of Volume 110. And it looks like Sanji’s suspicion about his notorious reputation might have been correct.

In a tweet from the fan translator, they mention that in the SBS section of Volume 110, it’s disclosed that Issho played a significant part in the collapse of Aoi Kingdom during the conflict. Sanji mused, “Perhaps he truly carries an immense infamous reputation…” and indeed, it appears his assumption was correct.
In the grand finale, Admiral Fujitora is poised to make a significant impact as he strives to reform a world plagued by corruption. However, his past may pose challenges for him. During the Dressrosa arc, it was disclosed that Fujitora intentionally lost his sight because there were sights he wished he hadn’t been forced to witness.
Although the anime hasn’t explored it extensively yet, creator Oda has revealed some significant details about him from One Piece’s latest volume. It seems he once held the position of Chief in the Aoi (Blue) Kingdom’s Defense Military. Tragically, this kingdom was demolished due to a war, making Fujitora a fugitive and a war criminal.
Additionally, Oda mentioned that it’s inevitable that the World Government will discover this matter later on. This revelation might pose a threat to Fujitora’s current rank as an Admiral.
The Egghead Incident storyline in One Piece’s manga has come to an end, now let’s discuss what’s coming up next: the Elbaf Arc. Additionally, don’t miss our articles offering insights into Akainu’s daughter and the Rocky Port Incident, as explained by Oda himself.
