In chapter 1177, Usopp and Brook are soundly defeated by Gunko. Luckily, Luffy and Loki arrive just in time, leading to the first-ever meeting between Luffy and Imu. Imu then proposes that Luffy and his crew join forces, threatening death if they refuse, and warns that a battle between them would tear the world apart.
