The strategic war game “Call to Arms” didn’t immediately resonate with everyone. It preserved the Men of War legacy and introduced modern warfare elements, but it never achieved the popularity of games like Company of Heroes or Total War. Despite this, it managed to cultivate a loyal following. Many players yearned for a World War II setting, so developers Digitalmindsoft, in partnership with Barbedwire Studios, eventually released Gates of Hell: Ostfront in 2021. In essence, Call to Arms paved the way for Gates of Hell, which currently boasts around 3,000-4,000 active players daily. The game has already released four DLCs and more are anticipated.
Gates of Hell in 2025: big plans, new faction, and more
In their latest update, the developer blog for “Call to Arms – Gates of Hell: Ostfront” offers a sneak peek at upcoming features in 2025. One of the forthcoming paid DLCs is slated to introduce the British faction, focusing on the Western Front. They’re currently working on the trailer and will soon reveal its official title. However, it’s clear that there will be a wealth of new content available.
However, prior to our chance to play as the British, there will be a preliminary version released first. Yet, the specifics of what this entails are yet to be revealed by the developers.
First off, you can expect the smaller release to debut ahead of schedule. We’ll unveil its details as soon as they become available. Meanwhile, progress continues on both productions, with our team tirelessly striving to enhance the gaming experience across various aspects.
Currently, they are focusing on additional enhancements such as incorporating more language options and redesigning the game guidebook. As of now, no specific dates have been set for upcoming DLCs. However, it’s evident that the team is not wrapping up the game just yet, and there’s certainly more to look forward to in the future.
