Once Upon a Time Star Wants Reboot—Would the Cast Return for More Magic?

Remarkably transformed well-known fairy tales during its 7-season run on ABC, amassing a passionate following. Ever since the show concluded, fans have been eager for a comeback or revival, and one of its lead actors is prepared and excited to rejoin the cast.

At Disney Upfronts, Ginnifer Goodwin, who played Snow White/Mary Margaret Blanchard in Once Upon a Time for its initial six seasons, expressed openness to the idea of a reboot. When asked if she’d be willing to return to her role, she said with enthusiasm, “Yes, absolutely!

Goodwin pondered over the significant influence “Once Upon a Time” exerted on her life – not merely from a professional perspective, but deeply on a personal level too. “My real-life story is inseparable from ‘Once Upon a Time’. It was one of the most meaningful jobs I’ve ever had, and it brought my husband into my life, as well as my children. Snow White holds a special place in my heart… If I could, I would jump at the chance to revisit that experience again.

After six seasons on the show, Goodwin made a return for the final episode as a guest star. She first crossed paths with co-star Josh Dallas on the set of Once Upon a Time, where he portrayed her romantic interest, Prince Charming/David Nolan. The couple tied the knot in 2014 and are parents to two sons.

As Goodwin expressed, “I believe I’m here due to that show,” her presence at Disney Upfronts could also be linked to the forthcoming film “Zootopia 2,” where she lends her voice to the main character, Judy Hopps. The sequel, “Zootopia 2,” is set for release in November 2025.

Once Upon a Time Actors Are Interested in Making a Comeback

Ginnifer Goodwin isn’t unique among “Once Upon a Time” cast members in discussing a reboot; Colin O’Donoghue, playing Captain Hook, has also mentioned it. However, a reprisal of the show would mean leaving behind the satisfying ending that fans enjoyed after seven seasons of fairy tale adventures. Even the Evil Queen (played by Lana Parrilla) was given a positive farewell, transforming into the Good Queen.

A reboot would necessitate gathering the entire creative team as well. Writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are at present working on the Max series titled “Skinny Dip,” which is adapted from the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen. Since then, most of the cast members have been engaged in various projects, with Jamey Sheridan (Goodwin) and Michael Beach (Dallas) being particularly active. She has maintained a consistent work schedule, appearing both in front of and behind the camera on shows like “This Is Us” and directing episodes for series such as “Yellowjackets,” “Joe Pickett,” “Dr. Death,” and “Tracker,” where she also made a guest appearance.

Once Upon a Time is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
