Fans can expect to embody Ohio State football standouts, Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs, starting from July 10th. The latest EA Sports College Football game has disclosed their ratings for these players, with both the wide receiver and safety being recognized as the top-rated players in the game.
In the recently announced rankings, the top two positions were claimed by the standout players from Ohio State (Buckeyes), with Smith earning a 98 overall rating and Downs not far behind, receiving an 96 score.
Smith just concluded an outstanding rookie year marked by a impressive 76 receptions for a total of 1,315 yards, resulting in 15 touchdowns. Defender Downs is widely recognized as one of the country’s top defenders and could potentially be the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In the rankings, Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. placed third, while Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who previously played against Ohio State for the national championship, ranked fourth. Lastly, Alabama’s wide receiver Ryan Williams secured fifth place with a 95 rating.
Following Downs, the next Buckeye to be selected was wide receiver Carnell Tate, taken 67th overall. Lastly, tight end Max Klare, the final Ohio State standout, secured a top 100 ranking, coming in at the 91st pick overall.
Which Ohio State star shared big promise?
As a die-hard Buckeyes fan, I’m buzzing with excitement about Smith’s and Downs’ rankings that have me itching to grab my Xbox and PlayStation controllers. But even before those rankings dropped, one of our stars had already electrified the fan base by making an enormous promise to us – a pledge that has kept our spirits high!
Smith shared his plans for upcoming Michigan games, having suffered a loss in the initial Ohio State-Michigan encounter the previous season.
As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “I may not be a sore loser, but let’s face it, losing isn’t my cup of tea – especially when it comes to that team from up north. They really got me good, and honestly, I can’t stand them. But mark my words, for the next two years, I vow to outplay them every time. I simply can’t afford another loss against them in the next two years.
After that crushing defeat against the Wolverines, Smith upped his game significantly. However, to win over Ohio State fans even more, he needs to lead them to a victory against Michigan.
