Oh, the Places Ariana Grande-Butera Will Go!

It’s uncertain if Ariana Grande has completely moved away from her pop girlie persona, as depicted in “For Good,” but it appears that her primary focus at the moment is her acting ventures. The star of “Wicked” and “Meet the Parents 4” has secured another significant role, this time voice acting in an animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ children’s book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. Although it might seem that new Ariana Grande songs are a thing of the past, there’s a chance you’ll still hear her singing for this project, as it is being described as a musical with original songs by the duo behind “Dear Evan Hansen,” Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. At present, specifics about the storyline and overall feel of the production remain scarce, so who knows? Perhaps Ariana will belt out some whistle notes on the soundtrack and transform this into “Oh, the Places Yuh”-‘ll Go!” instead.

It’s been confirmed that the film will bring Grande together with Jon M. Chu from Wicked, who will co-direct alongside Jill Culton, known for writing Monsters, Inc. and directing Open Season. Josh Gad will join Ariana Grande in the cast, as Warner Bros. revealed through an Instagram photo of them both in a recording booth on July 14th. The binders they are holding with matching designs hint at the original material from 1990, which features rhyming lines and tells a personal story about a traveler who faces various highs and lows after leaving home. We’ll see how this book transforms into a movie featuring a full cast of characters when Oh, The Places You’ll Go! hits theaters – including IMAX theaters – on March 17th, 2028.
