Bethesda unveiled the expected 1.2 beta version for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Steam. This update includes, among other features, a challenging new difficulty level and performance enhancements to address issues that surfaced following the release of the revamped RPG.
It’s important to mention that the patch isn’t out on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms just yet. The developers haven’t given an exact launch date for the official release, but it seems like we won’t have to wait too much longer, as it will likely be tested during the open beta phase soon.
TES: Oblivion Remastered – details of update 1.2
In the updated version of “Oblivion Remastered,” a fresh challenge level titled “Journeyman” has been incorporated. This new level lies between “Adept” and “Expert,” catering to players who found the former too simple and the latter excessively challenging.
Regarding performance improvements, the developers have resolved the problem of frame rate drops in Deepscorn Hollow, Black Rock Caverns, an area between Skingrad and Skingrad Castle, as well as south of Bravil Castle. Furthermore, the game’s overall stuttering in its open world has been significantly reduced, and numerous aspects have been optimized. This includes enhancements to the weather system and character animations.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but appreciate the enhancements made by Bethesda in the game’s user interface, audio, gameplay mechanics, and overall performance. It’s a joy to navigate through the improved interface and immerse myself further into the game world with superior sound quality. The fixes to persistent issues like the disappearing markers on the map have significantly elevated my gaming experience.
It seems that there have been numerous updates, yet the players who commented on the developers’ post were anticipating more significant performance enhancements. Perhaps we might see these improvements in the upcoming patch?
To participate in beta tests and preview the enhancements, navigate to your Steam library, right-click on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, then choose “Properties.” In the “Beta” tab, opt for the “[beta]” version of the game to get started.
Heads up! The remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on Valve’s platform is currently on sale and will continue until 10:00 am PT tomorrow. Instead of its regular price of $49.99, you can grab it for only $39.99. Additionally, the game is available to play through the Xbox Game Pass service too!
