Notably, it wasn’t just launched on Xbox Series X/S and PC, but also on PS5, which underscores Microsoft’s commitment to non-exclusivity. Whether this move is positive or negative is ultimately up to your personal opinion. However, one question remains unanswered: What about the older consoles like PS4 and Xbox Series X? Could we possibly see their versions released as well?

Despite the rising popularity of the latest console generation, introduced in 2020, it’s understandable that the older consoles like PS4 and Xbox One continue to hold strong, sitting alongside TVs in many homes. Interestingly, games are still being developed for these devices, long after the release of their successors. Consequently, it’s no surprise if one finds oneself seeking updates on the newest platforms as they come onto the market.

In the case of Oblivion Remastered, there’s a concern as we haven’t received any word from developers about a version for older consoles. Interestingly, even Bethesda’s older game, Starfield, was launched exclusively on Xbox Series X/S. Given this pattern, it appears unlikely that the situation regarding Oblivion’s port will change in the future.

Keep in mind that Oblivion Remastered has been recreated using Unreal Engine 5, a powerful engine that may strain even modern hardware. Therefore, transferring it to an older system would likely prove difficult, if not entirely impractical.
