In its first week on sale, Oblivion Remastered has become the third highest-grossing video game in the U.S. for 2025 when ranked by revenue.
According to data from video game analyst Mat Piscatella of Circana, The Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion Remastered was the third best-selling game during the week ending on April 26, trailing only Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows among 2025’s top-performing games.
The remarkable sales figures of The Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion Remastered are noteworthy given that it’s a revamped version of an almost 20-year-old game, and was unexpectedly launched with minimal advertising (only some leaks in the run-up to its release). It’s even more impressive because it debuted on Xbox Game Pass for both consoles and PC, allowing subscribers to play it without any extra cost. According to Piscatella, Game Pass subscribers were not included in the game’s sales statistics.
Additionally, you can play this game on the PlayStation 5. Notably, a significant number of sales were made to players on PlayStation, with Oblivion Remastered, along with two other titles published by Microsoft, holding the top three positions for the most downloaded PSN games in April, both in North America and Europe.
In just a few short days after its launch, Bethesda Game Studios revealed that over 4 million gamers across various platforms had already enjoyed Oblivion Remastered. Despite the fact that it seemed to overshadow some smaller games releasing concurrently, the publisher of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 mentioned that being near Oblivion didn’t hurt them at all. This turn-based RPG, available on Game Pass as well, has already surpassed sales of one million copies.
