Oblivion Remastered has received its first Unofficial Patch: a new version of classic mod that was a must-have all players of the original game

Among the notable gaming events in April, a surprising development was the unveiling of The Elden Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Regrettably, unlike most games from Bethesda,

Veterans of Bethesda games will swiftly recognize this project as it is. It represents the newest installment in a lineage of mods, functioning as unofficial upgrades. These mods strive to correct glitches and oversights that developers might have overlooked during the development process. This project was spearheaded by a team under the leadership of a well-known modder named Arthmoor. In the past, he along with other enthusiasts have also created similar projects for Oblivion, Skyrim (in separate versions for both the Legendary Edition and Special Edition), Fallout 4, and Starfield.

Though the Unofficial Oblivion Remastered Patch is still in its initial phases, having reached version 1.0.4, nonetheless, it boasts a substantial number of corrections – over 100 – for scripting, quests, NPCs, items, dialogues, and assorted problems.

As a passionate fan, I can’t help but marvel at the remarkable transformations modders have orchestrated within such a brief span. Despite being powered by Unreal Engine 5, it’s essential to remember that this technology predominantly enhances visual aesthetics. Underneath the polished exterior of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the core engine remains the original, diligently working behind the scenes, unseen by players like us.

Due to their work, Arthmoor and his team successfully adapted the majority of changes from their initial project to the remastered version. However, it’s worth noting that this situation appears to suggest a lack of attention on Bethesda’s part, as they were aware of these problems but decided not to address them during the remastering process.

It’s important to mention that Arthmoor’s projects have sparked some debate. Occasionally, he makes changes that certain fans think were unnecessary. Yet, many gamers seeking a more refined gaming experience find his mods to be strongly suggested.
