Right off the bat, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been a success, but even developers Bethesda and Virtuos admit it’s not flawless. As with most video games, especially those from Bethesda, there are bugs and glitches in Oblivion Remastered upon release. Now, Bethesda is releasing the first update for the game to tackle some of these problems.
On the official Steam page for Oblivion Remastered, Bethesda has detailed the contents of Update 1.1. This is the initial update out of two that Bethesda intends to roll out soon, though a release date for the second one hasn’t been set yet. Update 1.1 and its sequel will debut on Steam’s Beta platform first before being rolled out to Oblivion Remastered’s console versions.
Today, June 5th, Update 1.1 for Oblivion Remastered has been released on Steam Beta. A broader release of this update is scheduled for June 11th. This initial update primarily focuses on resolving major bugs that have arisen; however, some of the fixed glitches, such as Vincente Valtieri’s missing hair and High Chancellor Ocato’s stationary arms, turn out to be amusingly unintentional. Bethesda has not disclosed any specifics about the second planned update yet, but it will focus on enhancing the game’s overall performance.
For some gamers, the long wait for The Elder Scrolls VI has been unbearable, but Oblivion Remastered has rekindled their fondness for the series. In fact, a popular gamer known as Skyrim Grandma (Shirley Curry) came back from her streaming hiatus to explore Oblivion Remastered. Interestingly, Oblivion Remastered is currently the third best-selling game of the year, with Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leading the pack in first and second place respectively.
