Noel Gallagher, the songwriter and co-frontman of the reunited British rock band Oasis, has expressed interest in composing the soundtrack for the 26th James Bond film. During a recent interview on TalkSport Radio with Andy Goldstein, the possibility of Oasis being involved with the iconic 007 franchise was discussed. The band reformed in 2024 after a 15-year hiatus and is currently touring the world.
Goldstein asked Gallagher what he’d do if Barbara Broccoli personally asked him to take on a project. Gallagher jokingly replied he’d say, ‘Okay, Babs.’
Absolutely, I’d be delighted. I believe things like this are best handled by people from Britain, not the United States.
When directly asked if Oasis had been considered to perform the theme song for the next James Bond film, Noel Gallagher firmly denied it. However, his brother and bandmate, Liam Gallagher, recently tweeted that a Bond theme song is in the works and will be “the best BOND tune ever,” creating some confusion.

Screenwriter Steven Knight, known for Peaky Blinders, is enjoying working on the next James Bond film, Bond 26. In a recent interview with Radio Times Writers’ Room, he admitted he can’t reveal any details about the Amazon MGM Studios project, and even stayed silent when asked his favorite Bond movie, highlighting the intense secrecy surrounding the film.
You know, I’m hesitant to answer that directly. Sharing my thoughts right now might give the wrong impression about where I’m leaning, and I’d rather not box myself in just yet. I want to keep an open mind!
James Bond has become a legendary figure, almost like characters from folklore such as Robin Hood or King Arthur. He’s a significant part of our culture, both in Britain and internationally, so it’s important to approach the role and the character with respect.
Steve Knight, the creator of the Disney+ series A Thousand Blows, recently shared his excitement about taking on the James Bond franchise with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast. He said it’s been a lifelong dream and he’s eager to begin. As a longtime Bond fan, he hopes to create a film that honors the spirit of the series while also being fresh, impactful, and innovative.
The 66-year-old director described the competitive process of landing the reboot as a series of meetings. He explained that he initially met with producer Amy Pascal without knowing the purpose, but quickly learned it was about the project and became enthusiastic. After that, he went through several discussions and idea exchanges before finally being selected.
