Embark Studios quickly released a fix for ARC Raiders after players on PC discovered and used secret developer commands to unfairly win matches.
A technical issue stemmed from a specific launch command, “-newconsole -log,” which unintentionally gave PC players access to internal game settings. This allowed them to modify settings like their field of view (up to 120 degrees), remove fog and shadows, and sometimes even rejoin games after being defeated.
Console players, especially those playing with people on other platforms, reacted negatively to the exploit as soon as videos demonstrating its benefits started spreading online.
The new night vision settings in Arc Raiders give players a significant advantage, almost like cheating! Use them carefully, as you do so at your own risk. Instructions on how to enable them are listed below.

Embark issues swift fix to dev console exploit
News of the game glitch quickly spread on X (formerly Twitter), with many players posting videos showing how it changed the game’s appearance. Players were turning off shadows and other visual details to see more clearly, giving them an edge. The glitch also allowed for extremely wide fields of view and the ability to see through smoke and darkness.
Embark Studios announced on Saturday that they’ve fixed the issue. In a message on the official Arc Raiders Discord server, community manager Ossen explained the studio released a quick update to completely remove the problematic “NewConsole” command.

Embark says this feature was a mistake and shouldn’t have been available to players. They’re still looking into reports about it and will take steps to ensure fair gameplay and protect the game’s integrity if needed, according to Ossen.
Right after the update was released, players saw a message in the game requiring them to update before they could play. This meant they couldn’t join matches until the update was installed.
Although a few players enjoyed the temporary first-person view the glitch created, most agreed it gave players an unfair edge, especially when competing against those on consoles like Xbox and PlayStation who couldn’t use the same tools.
