Because of a continuing shortage of RAM and rising prices, other computer parts that rely on fast memory are being impacted. Graphics cards are particularly affected, and it appears Nvidia is now stopping production of at least two of its 50-series cards that include 16GB of VRAM.
According to a report from Hardware Unboxed, manufacturers have stopped producing the RTX 5070 Ti and the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti. Asus, a major Nvidia partner, confirmed at CES 2026 that getting more of these cards from Nvidia is proving difficult, and current supplies are expected to be the last available for the foreseeable future.
According to the report, Asus isn’t the only company making this change. Several other manufacturers and retailers in Australia have observed the same trend with their current inventory. The RTX 5070, with its 12GB of VRAM, isn’t impacted, and lower-cost cards with 8GB of VRAM, like the standard RTX 5060, will remain in production. This means the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 are the only GPUs from this new Nvidia series that come with 16GB or more of VRAM, and they’re still selling for higher-than-expected prices.
According to Hardware Unboxed, Nvidia planned to unveil its 50-series graphics cards at CES 2026, but has now postponed the release of the updated ‘Super’ versions. The report indicates that if RAM prices don’t become more stable soon, Nvidia might cancel the launch entirely, which would limit options for gamers looking to build or upgrade a powerful PC capable of running the latest games.
