No Sound in Brighter Shores, But There Is an Easy Fix for Audio Bug

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the ups and downs of countless game launches, I can confidently say that Andrew Gower’s latest creation, Brighter Shores, has certainly piqued my interest. The contrast between its structured narrative and the free-roaming freedom of RuneScape is intriguing, to say the least.

Andres Gower, creator of RuneScape, has unveiled his newest creation, Brighter Shores, on Steam Early Access. Known for its vast open world and endless opportunities, RuneScape is quite different from Brighter Shores, which emphasizes a more organized and narrative-focused gameplay. Although its debut has been marked by some technical difficulties, the game’s promise has already sparked interest among long-time followers as well as new players. Unfortunately, we can’t control server problems, but there is a solution for the audio glitch.

How to Fix No Sound in Brighter Shores

It’s surprising indeed! The game Brighter Shores is actually facing a restriction at the moment – its audio output is limited to 48,000 Hz. This means that if your headphones or speakers are set above this limit, you might not hear any sound from the game. For instance, my SteelSeries Sonar headset was the issue here because it was set to a frequency of 960,000 Hz and unfortunately, there’s no option to lower it.

Should you encounter the same problem, you could try changing the audio device you’re currently using by following these instructions:

  1. Open Windows “Settings”.
  2. Go to “System” and click on “Sound”.
  3. From the “Output” list choose “Speakers”.

Alternatively, you can try lowering your device’s sample rate:

  1. Open Windows “Settings”.
  2. Go to “System” and click on “Sound”.
  3. Scroll down and find “More sound settings”.
  4. Right-click your device and select “Properties”.
  5. Go to the “Advanced” tab and try lowering the sample rate under “Default Format”.

For individuals using computers without integrated speakers and relying exclusively on premium headphones, there’s an issue if these headphones have a maximum frequency limit higher than 48,000 Hz. Here’s hoping the developer rolls out a fix for this problem promptly.
