A year following the backlash against Jonathan Glazer’s speech at the 2024 Best International Feature Film awards, where he criticized the dehumanization of Palestinians, a documentary titled No Other Land, focusing on Palestinian resistance, clinches the Best Documentary Film award at the 2025 Oscars. In his acceptance speech, Palestinian director and lead actor Basel Adra expressed hope for his newborn daughter, stating, “I wish she won’t have to experience the same life I am living now, filled with constant fear of violence, home demolitions, and displacement that my community is confronting daily.” He further explained that “No Other Land” portrays the harsh truth we’ve faced for years, and it serves as our plea to the world to act swiftly against the injustice and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
