No Man's Sky Rolls Out PS5 Pro Enhancements, Crossplay, Cross-Save & The Normandy Expedition

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest updates to No Man’s Sky have truly taken my breath away! Being an avid fan of the game since its initial launch, I can confidently say that this new era feels like a whole new game. The Cursed expedition was already spooky fun, but the addition of the PS5 Pro enhancements has made it even more immersive and visually stunning.

Approximately two weeks have passed since the debut of the latest major expedition, The Cursed, which has brought a haunting atmosphere to this vast universe just in time for Halloween. Now, this very same universe is receiving updates in terms of performance and visuals as No Man’s Sky unveils its upgraded version, as confirmed by Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games.

Murray shared on Twitter that an improved version of the open-world sandbox game No Man’s Sky is now playable for PS5 Pro owners. This version takes advantage of the new PlayStation console’s capabilities, offering features and enhancements not seen before, aiming to deliver “unprecedented detail and superior image quality compared to any console experience before.

Today marks the release of THREE significant upgrades for No Man’s Sky:

This week, Murray shared some exciting news on Twitter that PS5 Pro users can now delve into upgraded gameplay experiences in No Man’s Sky, boasting several noteworthy features and enhancements. These include PlayStation State Restoration (PSSR) support, heightened frame rates, 8K resolution at 30 FPS, smooth 4K resolution at 60 FPS, and much more. In addition to the PS5 Pro compatibility, No Man’s Sky has also introduced new game elements that make it a breeze for players like me to switch between preferred gaming platforms, be it PC, consoles, or VR devices. This seamless transition is made possible with cross-platform play (crossplay) and cross-save features fully activated and enabled, allowing us gamers to enjoy our favorite universe together across different platforms!

In simpler terms, Murray mentioned in the post that it’s particularly challenging for No Man’s Sky to allow cross-platform save transfers because the complexity grows with every platform we support and the length of time players have been using the game. Our team is quite small compared to these numbers.

Finally, another update was announced, together with the PS5 Pro enhancements and the crossplay and cross-save features, which all occurred on the same day as BioWare’s N7 Day celebration. Mass Effect fans will be happy to note that The Normandy has returned for the first time since 2021 to the open-world sandbox game, for which they have two weeks to complete this exclusive expedition to claim The Normandy in-game.
