No Man’s Sky Is Coming To Switch 2 At Launch With Some Nice Upgrades

Hello Games is introducing No Man’s Sky for a brand new gaming console. The publisher recently announced the release of No Man’s Sky: Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade, and they’ve also released a video that highlights some of the improvements it has over the initial Switch version.

Players who initially played No Man’s Sky on the original Nintendo Switch can anticipate an instant visual enhancement with the game’s Switch 2 Edition. This updated version boasts a smoother frame rate, 4K texture compatibility, and a more refined user interface. Furthermore, it takes advantage of the Switch 2’s touchscreen and gyro controls. Additionally, No Man’s Sky on Switch 2 will now support multiplayer gameplay.

According to Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray in the video, “The original Switch was practically at its limits,” he says. “However, with No Man’s Sky 2 on Switch 2, we’ve made an incredible leap forward. The increased power enables us to incorporate full multiplayer for the first time on Switch 2. From the get-go, cross save and cross play are included, ensuring a smooth gaming experience across various devices.”

The release of The Switch 2 Edition coincides with the free update for No Man’s Sky called Beacon. One innovative feature included in Beacon is the ability to construct robot metropolises, a feat that was unachievable on the initial Switch version, according to Murray. Moreover, he mentioned that the Switch 2 edition will debut featuring nine years’ worth of updates and support for No Man’s Sky.

Those who currently own No Man’s Sky for Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to No Man’s Sky for Switch 2 at no extra cost. This is an exception as most Switch 2 Editions have required payment for the upgrade. Nevertheless, a few games are offering free Switch 2 updates.

On June 5th, the Switch 2 Edition of No Man’s Sky will be unveiled as one of Nintendo’s initial games for their latest system. Previously, an update named “Relics” was introduced, which enables players to reassemble skeletons and generate distinctive species using fossil excavation sites. Cross-save functionality was incorporated into the game by Hello Games towards the end of last year.
