No Dying Light Switch 2 Port, Dev Confirms

As a die-hard fan, I was thrilled when Techland’s zombie masterpiece, Dying Light, graced the Nintendo Switch in 2021. However, I’ve come to learn that the “Retouched” update enhancing its visuals and audio won’t be making its way to my beloved Switch, and it seems that the talented team at Techland is not currently working on a Switch 2 port of this magnificent game either.

According to Techland’s announcement to IGN, there are no plans for the Dying Light: The Retouched Update to be released on the Nintendo Switch.

As for the speculation about a two-port version of the initial Dying Light on the upcoming Switch 2, Techland has confirmed that it’s not in the cards. While it’s possible to play the game on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, Techland is not developing a fresh version of Dying Light specifically for the new console.

As of now, Techland doesn’t intend to create a two-port version of the original Dying Light for the Switch, but they are focusing on launching Dying Light: The Beast in August for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. At the moment, they have no information to share about the Nintendo Switch 2.

Tymon Smektala from Dying Light’s team at Techland shared with Wccftech that they are keen on bringing the character ‘The Beast’ to Nintendo Switch 2. However, as of now, there’s no official announcement regarding this matter.

The follow-up to Dying Light, titled Stay Human, was unveiled on the Switch in 2021 as a “cloud version.” According to Nintendo’s official site, it launched on April 2, 2022; however, it is currently unavailable for purchase.

Today, June 26th, the Refreshed Update for Dying Light is being released across platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This update primarily enhances the game’s graphics, aiming to extract even more visual quality without it being a full remaster.
