Nintendo Switch 2 System Update Out Now, Here Are The Patch Notes

Nintendo recently released an update (version 20.1.5) for the Switch 2. However, much like their usual practice, they haven’t provided many details about the changes this update brings.

As stated in the official release notes, this latest firmware upgrade is designed to boost overall system stability, aiming to provide a smoother and more enjoyable user experience. Further specifics about these improvements haven’t been disclosed at this time.

As a tech enthusiast, I always ensure my system is up-to-date. When I connect to the web, it’s designed to automatically download updates if available. But, for those who prefer a bit more control, you can manually install updates by navigating to the System Settings menu from your home screen, then opting for the System Update option.

Since its launch on June 4, this is the initial firmware upgrade that Nintendo Switch 2 has experienced. The first major update introduced several key features such as GameChat, GameShare, and the compatibility to play games from the original Nintendo Switch.

Globally, the new Nintendo Switch 2 debuted on June 5 and has made an impressive entrance with sales exceeding 3.5 million units within its first four days. The debut title, Mario Kart World, is also gaining popularity as 79% of new Switch 2 owners have either purchased it as part of a bundle or individually.
