During the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation, we got our first official look at the enhanced Nintendo Switch Pro Controller 2. This updated version of the gamepad is set to debut on June 5, simultaneously with the Switch 2 system, and it boasts a few upgrades: new keys such as a C button to initiate GameChat and dual back buttons.
As a gamer, I’m excited about the addition of new buttons in the upcoming Nintendo controller, which also includes a headphone jack – something that’s been missing from the current Switch Pro controller. From what I can see, it seems to have many of the same great features. Gyro controls and rumble are likely to return, although Nintendo hasn’t confirmed all the details yet. It remains to be seen if they’ll use Hall Effect or TMR sensors for the joysticks.
Visually speaking, it shares a strong resemblance with the regular Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. It boasts offset analog sticks, a D-pad, four primary face keys, and four shoulder buttons on the upper part, which gives it a very familiar appearance when compared to its previous version.
As a gamer, I’m excited about the upgrades coming to my Joy-Cons! Not only will there be a new C button, but they’ll also work like a mouse in compatible games. Plus, the larger buttons make gaming with a buddy more comfortable.
