Nintendo Switch 2 Launching In June With Three-Phase Rollout For Games – Report

According to reports, it’s expected that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in June, with a strategy involving three stages for the release of both original and non-Nintendo games spread across the remainder of the year.

Based on information from Insider Gaming, it’s been suggested that Nintendo has a three-phase strategy for releasing the Nintendo Switch 2 this year. Kickoff phase begins in June with the introduction of the Switch 2, accompanied by several popular Nintendo games such as the upcoming Mario Kart title, as hinted in the unveiling trailer. Additionally, more game developers will receive Switch 2 development kits during June, although it’s been confirmed that some developers already have them; Nintendo is only increasing the number in June.

During October to November, we can expect a second phase where additional third-party games will be rolled out on the console. The final phase is during the holiday season, but specifics beyond more game releases are yet to be disclosed. A report also hinted at content creators and media getting a sneak peek of the new console and some upcoming games next week, coinciding with the scheduled Switch 2 Nintendo Direct event.

It’s set for April 2nd, but rumors suggest another Nintendo Direct event may happen this week. The specifics are still vague, but it’s believed that this Direct will solely focus on the original Nintendo Switch and upcoming games for that system, such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Interestingly, Nintendo has recently launched Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, which includes a secret 60 FPS mode. It’s possible that this mode could be a feature of the rumored Switch 2.
