Nintendo Switch 2 Is Getting A Kirby Air Ride Sequel

In a thrilling turn of events, I found myself on the edge of my seat as Nintendo unveiled an array of captivating titles for their highly anticipated next-gen Switch 2 console during their April Direct event. Among the lineup, a fresh racing game featuring the loveable puffball Kirby caught my eye!

The much-anticipated sequel to the beloved GameCube game Kirby Air Ride, titled Kirby Air Riders, is making its exclusive debut on Switch 2. Notably, this project is being helmed by series creator Masahiro Sakurai, renowned for his contributions to the Super Smash Bros. series. This will be Sakurai’s first Kirby title since the original Air Ride.

In the video shown, we get a quick peek at the upcoming game featuring Kirby, who is seen speeding on a rocket-powered Warp Star across a lush field, competing against three other Kirbies. The specifics were not revealed, but Nintendo has confirmed that the game will be released sometime in this year.

During today’s Direct presentation, Nintendo unveiled Kirby Air Rider as one of the numerous titles for the upcoming Switch 2 console. The event concluded with the announcement of Donkey Kong Bananza, a fresh 3D Donkey Kong game. Additionally, we caught a glimpse of The Duskbloods, an exclusive title for the Switch 2, developed by From Software, known for Elden Ring.

During their presentation, Nintendo unveiled considerable details about the Switch 2, such as its innovative game cards, revamped Joy-Con controllers, among other features.
