Nintendo will be hosting a new Indie World Showcase soon. This is the first one since the highly anticipated game, Hollow Knight: Silksong, was released – a game that fans had been eagerly awaiting for a long time and was a major highlight of previous showcases.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting Hollow Knight: Silksong for a long time. This led to a running joke within the community where every major gaming event—especially Nintendo Indie World Showcases—would pass without any Silksong news, leaving fans disappointed. People kept anticipating an announcement during these events, but it never came.
Hey everyone, just saw Nintendo dropped a link to the next Indie World Showcase! It’s happening on March 3rd, 2026, at 6:00 AM Pacific Time – so set those alarms! They’re saying it’ll be about 15 minutes long. What’s really cool is this is the first one after Silksong finally came out – the last showcase was back in August 2025, and then Silksong launched the next month. I’m super hyped to see what new indie games they’re gonna show off!
Nintendo’s Next Indie World Showcase Has Lost Its Biggest Draw
I was really looking forward to the latest Indie World Showcase, but honestly, it didn’t really deliver. A lot of the hype around these showcases used to come from hoping to see Hollow Knight: Silksong finally announced, and even the news about DLC for it just doesn’t feel as exciting as if they’d revealed the full game. It’s just not generating the same buzz.
Most indie games are already available or planned for the Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, so it’s hard to generate excitement around titles not on those platforms. While fans are eagerly awaiting Megabonk, and a release date for Vampire Crawlers would be a nice finish, there isn’t much else to look forward to since the Switch and its successor are so popular with indie developers.
People were less enthusiastic about the recent Indie World Showcase because it didn’t feature many highly anticipated games, making the potential reveal of Hollow Knight: Silksong particularly important for these events.
Fans are eagerly awaiting news on when Chapter 5 of Deltatune will be released. However, comments from the game’s creator, Toby Fox, indicate that development isn’t quite finished enough to announce a specific date. While a general timeframe might be possible, it seems likely that a full announcement will be saved for a Nintendo Direct presentation.

Nintendo’s Indie World presentations aren’t usually as thrilling as their bigger showcases, but they’re still worth watching. At the very least, they often suggest a full Nintendo Direct presentation is coming soon – and we could really use one!
