Nintendo Announces Alarmo Alarm Clock, Only Works With Switch 2 In Our Dreams

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Nintendo has always had a knack for thinking outside the box. From their revolutionary consoles to their quirky peripherals, they never fail to surprise us. The latest addition to their lineup – Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock – is no exception!

Following several months filled with excitement, whispers, and assumptions, Nintendo has at last unveiled a fresh addition to its collection in 2025. Unlike the anticipated successor to the Switch, this newcomer is not a console but rather Alarmo – an alarm clock embellished with Nintendo motifs, playing familiar tunes and sounds to ease you into your morning routine.

Alarmo features motion-activated controls, enabling users to snooze or silence it without any physical interaction. It will track the number of times you move during sleep as well. The device offers wake-up options in both Steady and Gentle modes–Steady gradually increases the alarm volume, while Gentle maintains a constant volume throughout.

Alarmo showcases footage from five Nintendo Switch titles – Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, and Ring Fit Adventure. By linking their Nintendo Online accounts to the device, users can access scenes from an extra pair of games: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In simpler terms, the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on Nintendo’s help platform confirms that Alarmo is an independent device, meaning it doesn’t connect with other devices such as the Nintendo Switch or its future versions. However, you can use Alarmo on any bed size from a twin to a king-size. Also, Alarmo is not a temporary or special edition product.

The Nintendo Alarmo can be pre-purchased on the official Nintendo webstore at a price of $100, however, it’s currently exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members. Delivery is expected to commence in early 2025.
