‘Night Agent’: Genesis Rodriguez in Talks for Season 3 Role

As a seasoned cinephile with a penchant for spy thrillers and a keen eye for emerging talent, the prospect of Genesis Rodriguez potentially joining Season 3 of “The Night Agent” has me absolutely thrilled! With her impressive resume spanning from Paramount+’s “Lioness” to Kevin Smith’s “The 4:30 Movie,” it’s clear that Rodriguez brings a unique and captivating energy to every role she takes on.

Before the debut of “The Night Agent” Season 2, there’s a possibility that Genesis Rodriguez might appear in Season 3 as well.

According to reliable information, it appears that EbMaster has found out that Rodriguez might be negotiating a part in the third season of the show. This season was officially greenlit by Netflix in October, but specifics about Rodriguez’s character are being kept secret for now.

Reps for Netflix declined to comment.

In the upcoming spy thriller series, Rodriguez will take on the lead role. At present, she is featured in Season 2 of “Lioness” on Paramount+, and her latest appearance was in Kevin Smith’s production titled “The 4:30 Movie.” Her recent television work also includes “Neon,” “The Umbrella Academy,” “Time After Time,” “Big Hero 6: The Series,” and she lent her voice to various characters in these shows. In films, Rodriguez has been seen in “Tusk,” “Casa de mi Padre,” “Man on a Ledge,” and “Run All Night.

She is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

The second season of “The Night Agent” is due to start streaming on Netflix from January 23rd. The first season, which aired in 2023, was the most viewed show that year when measuring viewership by hours watched (calculated as total hours watched divided by total run time). It also ranked seventh among all English language TV shows ever shown on Netflix in terms of total views, with a staggering 98.2 million total viewers.

The TV series ‘Night Agent’ is adapted from Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name. As described in the official synopsis, the story revolves around FBI agent Peter Sutherland, portrayed by Gabriel Basso, who initially holds a low-ranking position. In season 1, his actions to protect the President lead him to be given the chance to become a Night Agent in season 2. However, working for the clandestine Night Action organization will thrust Peter into a realm where peril lurks at every turn and trust is hard to come by.

The TV series was created by Shawn Ryan, who oversees it as showrunner and executive producer through MiddKid Productions. Marney Hochman from MiddKid, together with Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn (from Exhibit A), William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and Nicole Tossou (Project X), David Beaubaire (Sunset Lane Media), Paul Bernard, Munis Rashid, and Guy Ferland are also serving as executive producers. Sony Pictures Television is the production company behind it.
