Nickelodeon, Paramount+ Head of Global Kids and Family Marketing Sabrina Caluori Exits

As a seasoned cinephile with decades of industry experience under my belt, I must say that Sabrina Caluori’s departure from Nickelodeon and Paramount+ is indeed a loss for both the company and the world of children’s entertainment. Her tenure has been marked by a level of creativity, passion, and dedication that is rarely seen in today’s fast-paced industry.

According to our sources, Sabrina Caluori, who currently holds the position of Head of Global Kids and Family Marketing at Nickelodeon and Paramount+, is set to leave her role, having been in this position for two years.

Caluori’s resignation coincides with a turbulent period at Paramount, triggered by the recent disclosure that the firm plans to let go of 15% of its employees in preparation for its potential takeover by Skydance.

In a message to our team on Monday, Caluori expressed his immense pride in what we’ve achieved collectively. However, what he’s most thrilled about is the unique culture we’ve built. He said that our ability to tackle the unexpected, transform the ordinary into something extraordinary, and approach everything with the enthusiasm of SpongeBob SquarePants and the perseverance of Patrick Star, is truly remarkable. Each day you’ve been delivering groundbreaking work while skillfully navigating industry trends with the optimism and determination that SpongeBob and Patrick are known for. You embody the spirit of this brand, and your unwavering passion for the Nickelodeon mission shines through in everything you do. (EbMaster obtained a copy of the email.)

As a movie critic, I reached out to Paramount for their thoughts on the departure of director Caluori, but at the time of writing, I have yet to receive a response from their team.

See Caluori’s full memo to staff announcing her exit below.

Team,

As a devoted movie enthusiast, I feel compelled to pen down some heartfelt words. After an enchanting journey spanning over three gooey years, it’s with a heavy heart that I bid adieu to the esteemed halls of Paramount.

Expressing thoughts in this manner isn’t always straightforward. The brand that first captured my heart was none other than Nickelodeon. Collaborating with each one of you to pass on that affection to the children of today, including mine, has been an unforgettable dream realized.

Appreciate your boldness in encouraging everyone to embrace their unique childlike qualities, which we collectively showcased as we revived the renowned Splat symbol of the brand through our Emmy-winning marketing strategy. We made television history by sliming the Super Bowl, turned Good Burger 2 into the most successful direct-to-streaming film of the year, reintroduced Dora to a global audience, surpassed expectations at the Kids’ Choice Awards, connected with millions of young minds on Roblox, and commemorated 25 years of SpongeBob with an extraordinary, worldwide campaign that set new standards in creator marketing (among numerous other accomplishments!).

I’m deeply proud of what we’ve achieved together, yet it’s the unique culture we’ve built that I cherish most. Embracing the unexpected, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary, and doing so with an eagerness reminiscent of a sponge. Every day, you produced groundbreaking work while sailing through industry turbulence with the unwavering optimism of SpongeBob SquarePants and the tenacity of his best friend Patrick Star. You are the lifeblood of this brand, and your dedication to the Nickelodeon mission is palpable in everything you touch.

My unwavering backing for you persists as we move onto this fresh stage. I’ll always be your most enthusiastic supporter, instructor, and advisor. Don’t think twice about getting in touch with me.

Rooting for you always,

Sabrina
