As a seasoned film enthusiast with a penchant for spotting talent and a knack for predicting box-office successes, I must say that Nick Offerman’s addition to “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” is nothing short of exhilarating! His versatile acting chops, as showcased in his roles in “Parks and Recreation,” “The Last of Us,” and the critically acclaimed “The Founder,” make him a perfect fit for the gritty yet captivating storyline.
According to our sources, Nick Offerman is joining the cast of the forthcoming Apple TV+ show “Margo’s Money Woes.
In this upcoming series, John Offerman will join forces with previously announced stars Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The show, consisting of eight episodes, was given the green light by Apple TV+ back in February following intense competition among various platforms. It is adapted from the novel by Rufi Thorpe that hit shelves in June.
According to the storyline of the novel, it revolves around Margo Millet (played by Fanning), who is the child of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and a former professional wrestler (Offerman). Currently in her twenties and unemployed, Margo finds herself in a difficult financial situation as a single mother. In an attempt to manage, she decides to open an account on OnlyFans. When her father reappears in her life, she begins to apply the principles she learned from his pro wrestling career to her work on OnlyFans, leading to unforeseen prosperity.
Earlier reports have confirmed that Offerman is set to feature in the forthcoming Netflix series titled “Death by Lightning.” This intriguing series revolves around the narrative of the murder of U.S. President James Garfield, portrayed by Michael Shannon, at the hands of Charles Guiteau, played by Matthew Macfadyen.
In 2023, Offerman clinched both an Emmy Award and an Independent Spirit Award for his guest appearance in the acclaimed HBO series “The Last of Us,” specifically for the critically-acclaimed episode titled “Long, Long Time.” Most notably, he has starred in series such as “Parks and Recreation,” “Pam & Tommy,” and “Devs,” as well as films like “The Founder” and “The Kings of Summer.” His current projects include the final season of “The Umbrella Academy” and the Alex Garland film titled “Civil War.
He is repped by UTA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
David E. Kelley takes on the roles of writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series titled “Margo’s Financial Woes.” Actors Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will not only star in this production but also serve as executive producers. Brittany Kahan Ward and Dakota Fanning, under the banner of Lewellen Pictures owned by the Fannings, will also be executive producers. Per Ari Per Saari from Blossom Films, which belongs to Kidman, and Matthew Tinker from David E. Kelley Productions will also serve as executive producers. Thorpe is another executive producer. A24 is the studio behind this project.
