Nicholas Sparks’ ‘Counting Miracles’ Film Adaptation Set at Amazon Starring ‘Reacher’ Lead Alan Ritchson (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a penchant for heartwarming stories that tug at the heartstrings, I am genuinely thrilled about the upcoming adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ latest bestseller “Counting Miracles.” The casting of Alan Ritchson as the former Ranger in this small-town drama is not only fitting but also intriguing, given his impressive portfolio.

The popular novel “Counting Miracles” by renowned writer Nicholas Sparks is being transformed into a film at Amazon MGM Studios, with “Reacher” actor Alan Ritchson taking on the lead role.

In “Counting Miracles,” the protagonist Ritchson, a former Ranger, sets out for his humble hometown on a personal quest: uncovering the identity of his long-lost father. During this voyage, he interacts with a compassionate doctor who juggles her role as a devoted single parent to two children and a secretive elderly man, whose past is steeped in enigma. This encounter sparks unforeseen bonds and a journey toward finding a sense of belonging.

On September 24th, Random House published “Counting Miracles” by Nick Sparks, which climbed to the No. 1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list this past Wednesday. This achievement marks the 20th time that one of Sparks’ books has reached the top position on the chart.

In the “Counting Miracles” film adaptation, Ritchson – under his production company AllyCat Entertainment – will collaborate with Dan Spilo of Industry Entertainment, Denise Di Novi from Di Novi Pictures, Margaret French Isaac, and Theresa Park (Sparks’ longtime producing partner) to produce the project. This deal is part of Ritchson’s three-picture agreement with Amazon MGM Studios. Previously, Di Novi has been involved in adapting works by Sparks, including “The Best of Me,” “The Lucky One,” “Nights in Rodanthe,” “A Walk to Remember,” and “Message in a Bottle.

Both AllyCat Entertainment and Di Novi Pictures are under first-look film deals at Amazon.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates about the multi-talented actor, Ritchson. Known for his gripping portrayal of Reacher in Amazon’s hit action series, which is set to return with its third season in 2025, Ritchson is currently immersed in the production of Netflix’s action-packed sci-fi film, “War Machine.

Ritchson is represented by the agencies WME, Industry Entertainment (headed by Dan Spilo), Shelter PR, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m represented by a stellar team. Howie Sanders, Co-Head of the Anonymous Content Media Rights Department, is one of my reps. Additionally, Celeste Fine of Park & Fine Literary and Media is part of my team too. For public relations, I’m fortunate to have Jill Fritzo on board, and for legal matters, Scott Schwimer Esq. ensures everything runs smoothly. What a dream team!
