Filming for the real-life adaptation of Masters of the Universe is completed, and lead actor Nicholas Galitzine recently shared a surprising detail about his character’s special diet while preparing for the role.

Despite not being as well-known as some main Marvel or DC superheroes, He-Man has been active since the 1980s. Our golden-haired hero originates from the Masters of the Universe realm, transforming across different forms – from original comic book appearances to more dated animation styles today.

2026 will bring a fresh transformation for Masters of the Universe. For the second time since 1987, it’s set to be adapted into live action. Nicholas Galitzine from “The Idea of You” will play the dashing tough guy, while Camila Mendes portrays Teela, Jared Leto steps into the role of Skeletor, and Alison Brie embodies Evil-Lyn – just a few of the notable characters.

As a die-hard fan, I must say that the details about Galitzine’s upcoming movie were scarce, but now that filming is complete, he’s spilled the beans on how he’s going to get muscular – and let me tell you, his approach is nothing short of incredible!

Nicholas Galitzine ate 4000 calories a day for He-Man transformation

In an interview with W Magazine, Galitzine shared that he consumed approximately 4000 calories daily to achieve his He-Man physique, more than double the suggested intake for the typical adult (which is around 2000 calories per day).

He mentioned that his days are filled with a great deal of food consumption and weight training, along with numerous stunts. He stated that he consumes approximately 4,000 calories daily. However, despite this high intake, he finds himself feeling hungry at the end of each day, which is quite unexpected.

This is enjoyable! However, soon I’ll enter what’s known as the ‘cutting phase,’ which means I’ll need to restrict my food intake and may not always be at my best with others. I just want to express my regrets in advance for any changes that might occur over the next few months.

The movie, which is due for release in June 2026, has given us a glimpse of Galitzine’s portrayal of He-Man through Instagram posts. Filming for the movie was completed by June 15, 2025.

In summary, ‘Masters of the Universe’ has concluded. I felt privileged to bear the duty of portraying Adam and He-Man. It was a part that I immersed myself in completely, and it feels like a career highlight. While there isn’t much I can share with you, I am incredibly proud of the film we created together. You’ll notice that his costume bears a striking resemblance to the one from the 1983 animated series, so it seems we’re in for a traditional interpretation of our familiar character. In what’s to come, Castle Grayskull will likely be under constant siege by Skeletor, Hordak, and their Snake Men troops.

Everyone is convinced that the hidden knowledge they possess will enable them to dominate Eternia and the cosmos as a whole, making them the Rulers of the Universe.

While we eagerly wait for the next big premiere, I’m taking this opportunity to explore fresh films available on streaming platforms. Additionally, I’ve been keeping an eye on the list of movies scheduled for release in the second half of 2025 – can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
