As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic when it comes to Pokemon Go and its latest addition, Fidough. The Global Challenges have always been an exciting part of the game, bringing us all together in pursuit of a common goal.

However, this time around, Niantic seems to have made the task easier than a Sunday stroll through Pallet Town. From “Make Nice Curveball Throws” to just “Make Nice Throws,” it’s like they went from baking a croissant to simply microwaving a Hot Pocket.

I remember the good old days when landing a Curveball was as easy as catching a butterfree in a net. But now, it feels more like trying to catch Mewtwo with a rusty fishing rod. I’m all for a challenge, but this is starting to feel like an unnecessary hurdle.

In the future, Niantic, please don’t make us jump through hoops just to get our hands on a new Pokemon. After all, we didn’t evolve to catch ’em all only to struggle with Curveballs!

On a lighter note, I can’t help but wonder if this change was due to the event being as short as Fidough’s lifespan. Maybe it’s like baking bread; you need the right amount of time for it to rise before you take it out of the oven. Or maybe they just realized that we gamers are better at catching ’em all than we are at throwing curveballs!

At a global event, Pokemon Go is introducing a new character called Fidough. Players will have to work together to unlock it, but luckily for them, Niantic has lessened the challenge by reducing the precision needed when throwing a Pokeball.

As a dedicated Pokémon Go enthusiast, I’m always thrilled to participate in Global Challenges. These engaging events invite every player to collaborate and contribute towards a common goal, which ultimately unlocks exciting rewards. The massive community playing this game ensures that these challenges are often accomplished ahead of schedule, as they typically revolve around activities we love doing – such as catching multitudes of Pokémon, aka ‘Mons!

On January 3rd, the Fidough Fetch event commenced, and Niantic adjusted one of the Global Challenge conditions on their Pokemon Go social media platforms. Initially, players were required to perform “Well-Curved Throws,” but now they simply need to execute “Nice Throws.

Trainners, the revised prerequisite for the Fidough Fetch competition in the Global Challenge is now “Perform Pleasant Tosses.” For further details, check out our latest blog post.

Fidough Fetch now only requires Nice Throws to complete

The main objective behind the Global Challenge was for participants to unveil Fidough and its subsequent form, Dachsbun. It appears that Niantic might have had doubts about whether the goal would be achieved, as reducing the throw requirement encourages many players to contribute effortlessly.

In earlier days of Pokemon Go, it was less challenging to execute a Curveball throw because the targeting system was more lenient. However, over time, players have had to improve their precision, particularly when trying to catch smaller Pokemon.

The rotational action along with the peculiar position makes it challenging and occasionally needs multiple attempts to execute a Curveball accurately. Conversely, a regular Good/Very Good/Exceptional pitch can be delivered in a straightforward manner.

In the future, it might be more straightforward for Niantic to make Pokémon from upcoming generations like Fidough readily available in Pokémon Go, rather than tying their accessibility to Global Challenges or other requirements. This is because a failure in a throwing event or similar player actions doesn’t necessarily determine whether popular Pokémon should be included or not.

Since the Fidough Fetch event concluded on January 7, it’s possible that the brief event span influenced Niantic to alter the task. Just as bread needs the right amount of baking time to become ready, perhaps the same principle applies here.
