The matchup between Ava Dash and Ariana Biermann feels heavily unbalanced, making it less enjoyable to watch. Following Ava’s subtle criticism of Ariana at the end of the previous episode, by expressing surprise over Ariana starting a fashion line, Ariana, experienced in reality TV, quickly responds. Ava attempts to retract her comments, but it’s already too late as Ariana, with Gia supporting her, is poised to retaliate. Regrettably, Gia’s actions further fuel the accusations of being a mouthpiece and she continues to meddle in conflicts that have no relevance to her.
In the first instance, it was acceptable as it appeared Brooks truly relied on Gia’s assistance to address Charlie, but this recent incident feels unnecessary. Unfortunately, the predicament lies in the fact that Gia can only gain screen time through this approach since she doesn’t have personal conflicts due to living in New Jersey and the Hudson River limiting her involvement with the group. Consequently, she’s capitalizing on others’ drama instead of having her own, which makes for less engaging television because even though she’s a skilled fighter, the significance of the disputes is lacking.
One aspect I frequently find intriguing about these series is when they opt to depict scenes as flashbacks instead of presenting them in chronological order. For instance, last week’s episode showed Charlie and Riley’s reconciliation through a flashback, rather than having it unfold as a separate scene. This creative choice can be effective when there’s significant plot development within an otherwise dull or unremarkable scene. However, this week’s episode utilized that technique for a plot point that could have been developed into a standalone dramatic storyline on its own.
Georgia and Dani reach Meredith’s caviar party venue a day early for a preliminary check, but find an eviction notice instead. With less than 24 hours to spare, they must locate an entirely new place for the Real Housewife client’s event. This unexpected twist could have filled an entire episode, but it’s condensed into a quick flashback as Georgia discusses it with her boyfriend Omar. It seems that Georgia’s exceptional work might have been the cause of this inconvenience, turning what could have been a dramatic ordeal into a problem she handled effortlessly.
At this dinner, what happened between Omar and Georgia isn’t even the most notable event. Instead, it was when Omar confessed his love for Georgia that took center stage. You might think this would be a heartwarming moment, but it wasn’t. That’s because Georgia called him out, as she knew he had said the same thing to girls he barely knew. We can all relate! In her private thoughts, Georgia explains that she has trust issues due to her father bankrupting their family business, abandoning them, and starting a new life. It makes sense, considering her past experiences. As a result, Georgia is always on guard, expecting something bad to happen again.
The caviar gathering remains rather unremarkable until the closing moments. When Shai bid farewell to Seth and Meredith, an unexpected inquiry about sexual fluidity – a subject Seth seems deeply fascinated by – transpired from him instead. In the realm of TV production, here’s a suggestion for Bravo: a spinoff titled “Love Island“, featuring exclusively bisexual contestants and hosted by none other than Seth Marks. He would undoubtedly be in his element. Turning to this particular group of parents, it was later disclosed that Ava, who arrived late, had already apologized to Ariana via text earlier in the day. However, Gia’s mother (formerly Teresa Giudice) followed and then unfollowed her on Instagram, causing a chill to run down my spine.
Charlie proposes visiting an elite nightclub named The Box following the event, which Emira claims is New York’s most exclusive spot. However, if they’re admitting Charlie, it seems less exclusive to me. Fortunately, our voice of wisdom, Georgia, speaks up, “You need to realize that I wouldn’t dream of paying for a night out in New York City…that’s just insane.” She embodies New York. If you truly are an “It” girl or as trendy as they think this group is, the club should be compensating you to attend. Georgia recognizes this because she’s the only one who genuinely fits the cool bill. The rest of them pay for their coolness, and at The Box, they pay dearly.
The following day, Riley discusses the night’s financial matters face-to-face with her parents. Meanwhile, we’re delighted to see Kandi Burruss make an appearance! However, things take an unexpected turn when Riley shares her plans to choose DJ-ing over law school, which leaves Kandi feeling disheartened. But the real shock comes when they reveal they collectively spent $14,000 at The Box. This news prompts Kandi to express her frustration, and justifiably so. To top it all off, Charlie prioritizes a group of strangers over his friends by making them foot the bill.
It won’t be long before they all gather and discover that Charlie has failed to repay money he owed each of them, which is particularly frustrating given his monthly allowance of $10,000 from his father. If I had a friend receiving such an allowance, I wouldn’t dream of buying them drinks at the bar; instead, I’d take it! The most astonishing thing is that Charlie doesn’t seem to feel any shame about accepting these handouts, even going so far as to ask for more on camera. To his credit, he does this in a rather amusing roundabout way. Instead of directly asking for money, he says something like, “Could you please increase the amount I owe you by $5,000?
It’s quite clear that he’s in a disorganized state, and his current predicament – chasing after the speakers he lent to Georgia – is a perfect illustration of that. This situation serves as the main focus of the storyline. He keeps calling, texting, pleading, even offering to pick them up himself. The twist is, she has no intention of returning them. At one point, she says she needs three days’ notice, acting as if she’s a bank handling someone’s savings. Her behavior is quite amusing! And just for the record, her phone – which he thought was lost and causing her to use the laptop at the club – has been found! It turns out it was under her bed all along.
During the final scene of the episode, the pair dines together with Georgia’s business partner present as a witness. Here, the tension between them reaches its peak. However, just as on ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ where the focus isn’t solely on the pasta, this conflict transcends their immediate issues. This is a battle of social classes. Georgia perceives Charlie as a lazy, unproductive individual living off his father’s wealth, and he resents her judgment. He lashes out at her, calling her a “stupid, delusional bitch,” suggesting she wouldn’t be on the show without him, and referring to her as dirt poor. He’s not just escalating the situation; he’s detonating a bomb. It’s shocking in today’s world that someone would behave so reprehensibly, knowing they are being filmed. He even threatens to slap her if she were a man. Firstly, Georgia could easily defend herself and retaliate, potentially giving him an eye infection in the process, so he should think twice about such threats.
It’s hard to conceive that he could recover from such a despicable act against her, given that the rest of the cast are now realizing his deceitful ways. If this entire series is meant as an intervention for Charlie to mature, when will everyone tire of his antics and decide to stop trying?
