The next Xbox, coming from Microsoft, will be able to play games designed for both Xbox consoles and PCs, according to the company’s new Xbox CEO.
Asha Shar recently became the head of Xbox after Phil Spencer left on February 20th. On March 5th, she announced an update after meeting with the Xbox team just before the Game Developers Conference.
Shar revealed the code name for the next gaming console on X (formerly Twitter) and shared details about one of its main features.

Xbox CEO says next-gen Project Helix console will play PC games
Shar’s comment immediately brings up a long-standing rumor about Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox console.
Over the last year, reports suggest Microsoft has been working to better connect its Xbox consoles with PCs. They’ve already started doing this with features like Xbox Play Anywhere, which lets you buy a game once and play it on both your Xbox and Windows PC.

Microsoft will continue working with AMD to create the processors for future Xbox consoles. AMD also designed the custom processors used in the current Xbox Series X and Series S, and they’ve confirmed they’re partnering with Microsoft again for the next generation of consoles.
Most people think Project Helix will be the next generation of Xbox consoles, following the Xbox Series X and Series S that came out in November 2020.
Although Microsoft hasn’t revealed when the new console will be available or its detailed specs, a recent post confirms it’s in development and will be able to play games from both Xbox and PC.
