New Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Update Fixes Performance Issues, Grants Additional Freebies As Apology

Yesterday, just hours after its launch, publisher 505 Games has rolled out an update for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers that tackles some performance snags, squashes pesky bugs, and makes good on the preorder bonuses that were initially overlooked. Alongside these improvements, every player will receive the game’s original soundtrack as a token of apology. As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to see the swift action taken by 505 Games to ensure a smoother gaming experience for all of us!

The update includes a switch that allows you to turn on low latency mode manually, which is now off by default. Additionally, the game has been optimized for lower-end graphics cards. 505 Games reports they have fixed a problem where the game might crash right after the company logo appears during startup. They’ve also resolved an issue causing stuttering during finisher animations.

Individuals who purchased both the standard and deluxe versions of the game ahead of time will get their corresponding perks following the update of the patch. If you’re having trouble locating these rewards, the publisher suggests logging back in and collecting them from the donation box situated within the Reverent Temple.

In addition to other improvements, the gameplay for the landmine encounter in chapter two has been subtly tweaked to provide a “fairer and more enjoyable experience.” This update means there will be fewer active landmines and they’ll cause less harm.

505 Games has announced that they are actively developing a larger update, scheduled for release within the upcoming days. For any persisting problems, players are encouraged to contact their customer service department or consult the game’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for additional guidance and assistance.

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, more than 115,000 players simultaneously experienced its release, yet the feedback on Steam is predominantly unfavorable because of issues related to performance optimization.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Patch 1.3 notes:

⚙️ Performance Related Optimizations

  • Low Latency Mode is now a manual toggle in the Options menu. It will no longer be enabled by default.
  • Supersampling resolution limits have been adjusted on select GPU models to prevent unintended performance degradation.
  • VRAM optimization for lower-end GPUs:
  • For GPUs with 8GB or less VRAM, memory-saving optimization is now applied across all texture quality levels.
  • For GPUs with more than 8GB VRAM, this optimization applies only when texture quality is set to Low.
  • These changes improve stability and reduce crashes or stuttering caused by insufficient video memory.

🛠 Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements

  • Fixed a crash that could occur immediately after the company logo during game startup.
  • Resolved execution stutter affecting select hardware configurations during finisher animations.
  • Fixed issues related to both the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition – after the patch update, players of both versions will receive the correct content rewards. Players who have already purchased the Deluxe Edition package will need to log in again and claim the reward at the donation box located in Reverent Temple.
