New Transformers One Clips At Comic-Con Show The Bots' Hilarious First Transformation

As a longtime fan of the Transformers franchise, I was absolutely thrilled to be among the first to witness the exciting revelations from the upcoming animated film, Transformers One, during Comic-Con’s Hall H presentation. The opportunity to delve deeper into the history of Cybertron and understand what led Optimus Prime and Megatron down their divergent paths was a treat I couldn’t pass up.

As a gamer, I’ve been following the Transformers animated series for years, and I’ve always been intrigued by the glimpses we’ve gotten of life on Cybertron before the Autobots and Decepticons arrived on Earth. Now, in 2021, we’re going to delve deeper into that history with the new animated film, Transformers One. I can hardly contain my excitement as I imagine where things went wrong between former friends turned bitter enemies, Optimus Prime and Megatron. And to kick off Comic-Con this year, Paramount invited us fans into Hall H for an exclusive sneak peek at some never-before-seen clips from Transformers One!

In the initial video, we saw Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-12 (Brian Tyree Henry) before they became Optimus and Megatron. They attended a grand race event in Cybertron. The spectators idolized Sentinel Prime, and it was hinted that the Matrix of Leadership had been absent for 50 cycles, making energon scarce.

Orion boldly registers himself and D-12 for the competition despite their inability to metamorphose like other participants. Initially, they perform admirably, but eventually, they are required to be propelled from a cannon to secure the third position. The duo’s mining background instantly endears them to the spectators.

In the second video clip, Alpha Trion (Laurence Fishburne) bestows upon Orion, D-12, Elita (Scarlett Johansson), and B-127 (Keegan-Michael Key) the power to transform. This transformation results in an appearance that aligns more closely with their iconic forms. To ensure their safe exit, Alpha Trion then converts into a rhino-like creature and engages the enemy forces in battle.

As a big fan, I can tell you that my friends and I initially stumbled in our efforts to metamorphose, leading to some hilariously disastrous results. However, we eventually managed to pull ourselves together and successfully transformed into magnificent Cybertronian vehicles, allowing us to make a swift escape.

In the third video clip, it was disclosed that Steve Buscemi provides the voice for Starscream. Starscream, together with Shockwave and Soundwave, were part of the Cybertronian High Guard. Starscream shares that he had seen the downfall of the Primes, and the four companions have recently been reawakened as their prisoners. A quarrel ensues between Starscream and D-12, which escalates swiftly into D-12’s metamorphosis into a colossal gun. Orion is the only one who manages to persuade D-12 against eliminating Starscream. The upcoming Megatron vows that this will be his final act of compassion.

The panel closed out with a new Transformers One trailer, which has now been released online.

Transformers One will hit theaters on September 20.
