As a die-hard fan of “The Office,” I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming Peacock series! The fact that it’s set in the same universe and maintains the original’s mockumentary style has me positively giddy. The star-studded cast, including Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, and many more, only adds to the anticipation.
The guest stars for Greg Daniels and Michael Koman’s yet-to-be-titled Peacock series, which shares a universe with “The Office”, have been confirmed.
The following actors will make appearances as guest stars in the upcoming series: Tracy Letts, known for “August: Osage County” and “Saturday Night,” Molly Ephraim from “Last Man Standing” and “A League of Their Own,” Mo Welch (“Krapopolis,” “Dad Jokes”), Allan Harvey (“Billions,” “Loot”), Duane Shepard Sr. (“Batman: Arkham Asylum,” “Loot”), Nate Jackson (“Young Rock,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Nancy Lenehan, who has been in “Veep” and “My Name Is Earl.” Specific character details for each actor are yet to be disclosed.
Welch is also a writer on the series.
This upcoming series isn’t a redo or spinoff of “The Office,” but features an entirely fresh cast while preserving the original’s mockumentary format. The formal description goes, “A documentary team, famous for capturing Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, now seeks a new subject. They stumble upon a fading historic Midwestern newspaper and its publisher, who’s attempting to breathe life into the publication with volunteer reporters.
The following actors have already been revealed for the project: Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill.
Greg Daniels, the mastermind behind the U.S. adaptation of “The Office,” which was modeled after the British version with the same name, collaborates with Michael Koman, renowned for his work on “Nathan For You,” as co-creators in this upcoming series. They share executive producer duties with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who originated the British show, along with Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas. Universal Television is the production studio behind the scenes.
