New survival strategy about building a city in a post-apocalyptic world learned a lot from Ceasar 3 and Frostpunk

Enthusiasts of city-building games can begin preparations for a fresh title coming from Tense Games next year. The game, titled “Seabed Settlers“, will submerge us into an underwater world. Drawing inspiration from timeless classics like Caesar III, Pharaoh, or the Anno series, this upcoming release might also share some characteristics with Frostpunk.

As an enthusiastic gamer, I eagerly anticipate the impending game that takes me into a post-apocalyptic world. A radioactive blast has reshaped our familiar landscape, forcing us, the survivors, to seek refuge beneath the ocean’s depths due to the relentless radiation. Our struggle for survival and the quest to rebuild civilization from its ashes unfolds, as we harness the technology at our disposal in this underwater sanctuary.

In our role as managers, we aim to ensure the well-being of the community by supplying essentials like food, security, housing, and vital resources. To achieve this goal, we will establish and interlink oxygen systems, healthcare facilities, and resource extraction sites.

In terms of basic survival, Seabed Settlers may share some similarities with Frostpunk. However, when considering the development and growth of settlements, it’s closer in style to Caesar III. This is because these underwater colonies will progress through three distinct stages. The more advanced a region becomes, the more inhabitants it will attract, leading the player to expand the infrastructure due to increased population.

The supervisor, often referred to as a high authority, will keep track of our tasks and actions to evaluate if we’ve done our jobs satisfactorily. Should there be any shortcomings, appropriate consequences will follow.

The release date for Seabed Settlers is still undisclosed, but it has been confirmed that the game will be available on Steam during the first three months of 2026.
