A new R-rated revenge thriller just swooped in and broke an all-time box office record.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has become the fastest movie ever to reach a major box office milestone, achieving the record in just five days. This sequel to the 2025 film Dhurandhar is an Indian action movie following a secret agent who goes undercover to take down criminal organizations in Karachi. The film’s story includes inspiration from actual events, like the 26/11 attacks and Operation Lyari.
According to Deadline, Dhurandhar: The Revenge earned $81 million worldwide during its opening weekend. This makes it the second-highest-grossing opening weekend for an Indian film ever, trailing only Pushpa 2 – The Rule which earned $97.9 million earlier this year.
